Suma has been working primarily in family law since 2021 and was admitted to practice in 2023. Suma brings a rigorous academic background and a deep commitment to achieving strategic outcomes for her clients whether within or outside the litigation environment. Suma is empathetic and approachable. She adopts a sensitive and structured approach to ensure that clients are well supported during a difficult and vulnerable period in their life.

Suma has extensive experience navigating the complexities of high-value and complex financial matters, including intricate asset structures, complex corporate and trust frameworks, and international assets, and financial agreements. In addition to her financial practice, Suma works with clients in sensitive parenting disputes, often involving allegations of family violence, mental health issues, and relocation applications. Suma’s practice has drawn her to the intersection of family law with other areas to gain a holistic approach in advocating for her clients. If litigation is necessary, Suma is a skilled advocate who strives to achieve long-term solutions for her clients in a collaborative, practical and efficient manner.

Suma holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) from Macquarie University. Her background in psychology provides her with a unique perspective when navigating the interpersonal complexities inherent in family law. Beyond her private practice, Suma is deeply committed to access to justice and diversity in the legal profession.
